Church in Life

A Community to equip believers to make disciples and plant churches wherever life happens

 

The name "Church in Life" arose because we often hear Christians in the western world say "I'm looking for a church with some life in it." As the name suggests, these pages – and this community - is for those Christians who are looking for life with more church in it!

Not 'church' as in buildings & programs and attractional Sunday services, but rather that which reflects more of the church that Jesus came to create - a Spirit-filled body of people who fill the world with His fullness (Ephesians 1:22-23); a temple of living stones - communities of believers who bring more of the Kingdom of God to the world (Eph.2:20-22; 1 Peter 2:4-5)

This community is a place for disciples to gather to be equipped for the great adventure Christ promised in John 10:10 – a life fully lived in Him, and reflecting the varied interests and gifting of those who are exploring Church in Life; this is expressed in numerous ways across these pages.

Teaching

Whilst written text isn’t how everyone grows and is built up, for many, encouraging words or insights from both God’s Word and modern scholarship can be a great resource. Whilst we find our faith and ultimate answers in God’s Word, God has also given us minds to learn and grow in fields as diverse as psychology, project management, life coaching, neurology, and the IT skills used to make these pages. If we are to love God with ALL our heart, soul, strength, and mind; then we can be equipped from any field.

 

In support of workshops or in response to questions raised by the community, these pages will be updated to help equip all of us for church in life.

 

Workshops

Throughout the year, church in life, in conjunction with Peace Christian Church will host various workshops with a real hands on focus to equip believers of all levels in skills that can be applied to their own lives or into their communities. This page will show any upcoming events, along with holding support materials as they are published.

 

Forums

Still under development – but what social media site would be complete without a place to talk to one another and quite literally build each other up.

 

Blog

The Blog Pages for CIL are here to keep us thinking about church, and life, whilst we champion and live in both. These reflections will normally come from many sources – from PCC members, from the wider Church in Life community, sometimes extending on Sermons (‘From the Cutting Room Floor’), Testimonies (‘Church in MY Life’), or sometimes be geared to reposting on social media, as so much of our lives – and thus the influence of Christ’s church – is invested in cyberspace (‘Church @ Life’).

 

These thoughts are not super refined works, crafted over dozens of hours of scholarship – more so they are reflections of the church in life, as it lives in life. But think of these pages as a dig sight for encouragement and insight – where a diamond in the rough may encourage – an example or insight of one can encourage another. Ephesians champions us to Build each other up – and whilst some are more gifted or called to this, we are ALL called to participate in encouraging and building into this awesome community called the church. These blogs are opportunities to be encouraged, and have thoughts that you can reflect upon from other members of the church as you do life.
